Mary Soltis, 100, of Pittston, passed away Sunday, April 4, 2021, in Wesley Village, Jenkins Township.
Born in Bethlehem, PA on April 29, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Costic and Teresa Kovach Sahayda.
Mary attended Jenkins Township schools and worked at Consolidated Cigar and Party Time in her earlier years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph A. (“Lefty”) Soltis, Sr.; sons, Joseph A. Soltis, Jr., John
Soltis, and George Soltis, (recently deceased); son-in-law, Raymond Nagy; daughter-in-law, Bernice Soltis; brother, Charles Sahayda; sisters, Helen Twardowski and Kathryn Rago.
Surviving is her daughter, Marian Nagy, Duryea; daughter-in-law, Doris Soltis, Jenkins Township; granddaughters, Jennifer Mead and her husband Jeffrey; Mary Jo Gubitoso and her husband Vincent; and Stephanie Tamulis and her husband Michael; great-grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; sisters, Madelyn Yanushko, SC; and Veronica Chuzas, Harding; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary’s family is extremely grateful for the loving care she received from the staff at Wesley Village Nursing Home and Anderson Personal Care.
