Judith “Judy” Waters passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 21, 2018 in Parker, Colorado at the age of 78.
Judy is survived by her daughter and son in law, Virginia “Ginny” Waters and Michael Aitkin. She is preceded in death by her husband, John “Jack” Waters.
Judy was born in Sydney, Australia to Noel and Hazel Quinn. She made her way from Australia to Canada briefly and then to Washington, D.C. where she worked for the Australian Embassy until meeting and marrying her husband. They later adopted their daughter. Judy worked for two Catholic retreat centers, Dominican Retreat and Missionhurst. They later moved to Colorado to be closer to their loving daughter and son-in-law.
Judy was loving, kind, and generous. She enjoyed volunteering at all of her Ginny’s activities when she was in school and always opened her home to anyone that needed it. Judy was a talented painter and took inspiration from spending time outdoors. She enjoyed traveling and tried to get back to Australia to visit her friends and family there when she could. She will be missed by people around the world from Australia, to Europe, to the United States.
Judy’s wishes are to be buried with her late husband, Jack, at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Carverton, Pennsylvania. Information for these services will be provided at a later date.
