Joseph F. Dileo


Joseph F. Dileo, age 86, of Pittston passed away in his home on Sunday, Feb 7, 2016 after an extended illness surrounded by his loving family. Born in Pittston, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Rutsey Dileo.

He attended St John the Evangelist High School and Keystone Aeronatic School and served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of St John the Evangelist Parish Community of Pittston and its Holy Name Society. He was a Life Member of the JFK Council #372, Pittston Knights of Columbus, and received his Fourth Degree Knighthood in the 1980’s.

He was last employed as a plumber for the Tobyhanna Army Depot.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Patrick, Nicholas and John Dileo, his sisters Annette Judge and Marie Gable, and his beloved son-in-law Thomas “Kubby” Kobeski.

Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Mary Jo Bufalino Dileo; daughters Mary Grace Loscalzo and husband Carl Loscalzo, Southampton, PA; Jackie Kobeski, Pittston, PA; and JoAnn Kosik and husband Dr. James Kosik, Laflin, PA. Grandchildren Camille and Ella Loscalzo; Thomas Kobeski and wife Jenn; Matthew Kobeski and fiancée Colby, and Zachary Kobeski; Julie, James, and Jocelyn Kosik; great granddaughter Luci Kobeski; sister Doreen Collins and husband Leonard, Harding, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, a dear niece, Mary Agnes whom he truly loved like one of his own daughters; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Special thank you to the many wonderful aides and health care providers as well as to family members for their dedication, support, and services to Joe and Mary Jo which allowed Joe to remain at home surrounded by his loving family until his death.

Funeral services will be Friday, February 12, 2016 at 9:00am from the Peter J. Adonizio Funeral Home, 251 William St, Pittston with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am in St John the Evangelist Church, 35 William Street, Pittston. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call Thursday, February 11, 2016 from 5pm to 8pm at the funeral home
