Thomas R. Ford, 57, of Yatesville, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2016 after a two year battle with brain cancer.
Tom was born June 20, 1958 in Fort Dix, New Jersey, son of Leonora Ford of West Pittston and the late Leo Ford.
He was a 1976 graduate of Wyoming Are High School. He received a nursing degree from LCCC ; a BS in Nursing from St. Francis University; and obtained a Nursing Home Administrator License.
Tom was employed by Wilkes-Barre General Hospital in both their CCU and Cardiac Cath Lab. He also headed the Cath Lab at Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre until 2002. Tom then took his love and caring for people to the next level and started working as a Regional Director of Operations for Compass Pointe until May of 2015 when his illness prevented him from working.
In addition to his father, Leo Ford (West Pittston), he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, John Hensley (Hughestown).
Surviving is his wife of 32 years, Catherine (Hensley) Ford, Yatesville; sons Thomas (TJ) Ford, Yatesville and Brandon Ford (Jen), King of Prussia; two granddaughters who were the love of his life Natalie Ford and Caroline Ford, King of Prussia. Also surviving is his mother, Leonora Ford, West Pittston; brother John Ford, Shavertown; sisters Annette Appel, Harveys Lake, Barbara Smith, Drums and Mary Malski, Clark Summit; mother-in-law, Barbara Hensley, Hughestown; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Dave and Lisa Harding, Pittston; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral services will be Saturday, February 13, 2016 at 9:00am from the Peter J. Adonizio Funeral Home, 251 William Street, Pittston with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am in Corpus Christi Parish, 605 Luzerne Avenue, West Pittston. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Assumption Cemetery, Hughestown at the convenience of the family. Friends may call Friday, February 12, 2016 from 4pm-8pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Four Diamonds Fund, 90 Hope Drive, Hershey, PA 17033.
