John J. Ford, 64, of Palmer, PA, formerly of West Pittston, PA, passed away Friday, February 19, 2016 at St. Luke’s VNA -Hospice House from an aggressive form of skin cancer.
Born on August 13, 1951, in Pittston, PA, he was the son of the late Marguerite (Ruane) and Frank P. Ford Sr. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his most precious son, Patrick J. Ford, and a brother, Frank P. Ford Jr. of Virginia.
John was a graduate of Wyoming Area High School class of 1969, and a graduate of Kings College, Wilkes-Barre, earning a degree in Criminal Justice in 1976.
John was proud to have served his country as a Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps Military Police. After the Marine Corps, John’s leadership skills led him to a career in Distribution and Logistics Management working for Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, Chanel Inc., and Merck & Co.
John was a parishioner of Saint Jane Frances de Chantal Parish in Palmer Township, PA.
John is survived by his childhood sweetheart and wife of 40 years, the former Colleen McCole; sisters, Mary Claire Donnelly, Carlisle, PA, Ann Crawford, Exeter, PA ; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Beloved by his in-laws, John will be greatly missed by the Ginocchetti, Bartusiak, and Fusco Families.
Funeral services will be Friday, February 26, 2016 at 12:30pm from the Peter J. Adonizio Funeral Home, 251 William Street Pittston with a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00pm in St. Joseph Marello Parish, 237 William St, Pittston. Friends may call Thursday, February 25, 2016 from 4pm-7pm and Friday February 26, 2016 from 11am-12:30pm. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke’s VNA Hospice, 2455 Black River Road, Bethlehem, PA 18015.
