Virginia Tonte, 92, of Pittston and formerly of Harding, passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2016 in Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore.
Born in Pittston on January 11, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Mary Insalaco Inglima.
Virginia was a graduate of Pittston High School. She and her husband, the late George Tonte, owned and operated Tonte’s Farm in Harding for many years.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. She truly enjoyed caring for her family and she will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, Samuel and James Inglima; and sisters, Rita Argo, Grace Spudis and Caroline Inglima.
Surviving are her sons, George Tonte, West Pittston and Ron Tonte and his wife Millie, Yatesville; grandchildren, George, Michael, Kevin and Keith Tonte; Missy Halapin and Phillip Oliver; great grandson, Thomas Hurtt; sister, Mary Costello, NJ; numerous nieces and nephews.
A Blessing Service will be held on Monday, February 29, 2016 at 11:00am in the Peter J. Adonizio Funeral Home, 251 William Street, Pittston. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Carverton. Friends may call Monday morning from 9am until time of service at the funeral home.
