Janice M. Pocceschi, 76, of Harding, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2016 in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital surrounded by her family. Born in Pittston on May 6, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Anna Hadvance Bright.
She was a graduate of Pittston High School, class of 1957 and Wilkes-Barre Business College. In her earlier years, she was a teller at Liberty Bank and later an embroidery worker at Aureus in West Pittston.
She was a devoted, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt and will be greatly missed. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. She was a member of Corpus Christi Parish, Church of the Holy Redeemer, Harding.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Fran VanTyle.
Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Gabriel Pocceschi; children, Gabe Pocceschi, Falls; Nadine Pocceschi-Regis and her husband Mark, West Wyoming; Carl Pocceschi and his wife Joyce, Annandale, NJ; and Mark Pocceschi and his wife Linda, Wyoming; grandchildren, Walker and Alexa Regis; Carley, Carissa and Chloe Pocceschi; Garret, Kinley and Nova Pocceschi; sister, Sharon Bosco and her husband Ray, Pittston; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces; great nephews; sisters-in-law; and a brother-in-law.
Friends may call Wednesday, May 4, 2016 from 5pm to 8pm at the Peter J. Adonizio Funeral Home, 251 William Street, Pittston. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, May 5, 2016 at 9am in Corpus Christ Parish, Church of the Holy Redeemer, State Route 92, Harding. Those attending are asked to go directly to the church on Thursday morning. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
