Ann-Marie Rowles, 73, of Wilkes-Barre passed away unexpectedly Tuesday morning, May 31, 2016 in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born in Providence, R.I. on October 20, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Bert W. and Marie A. Croteau Melander.
She graduated from High School in Rhode Island. She had worked for Social Security Administration for many years.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Church of the Immaculate Conception, Wilkes-Barre. She was a loving mother, grandmother; sister and friend; enjoying cooking and family gatherings. She enjoyed trips to the beach. Her family takes great pride in knowing all the lives she has positively impacted by being a full organ donor.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, C. Gordon Rowles in 1993.
Surviving are daughter Jennifer Jedrych and her husband Jan, Virginia; sons, Chuck Rowles and his wife Martha Pezzino, Pittston; Stephen Rowles and his wife Sarah Swiderski, Pittston; Christopher Rowles, Tunkhannock; and Andrew Rowles and his wife Deborah, Plains; grandchildren, Jana and Jaci Jedrych; Sophia, Jack, and Ava Swiderski; Sehara, Charlesie, Christopher and Syndel Rowles; brother, Bert Melander, Providence, RI.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, June 6, 2016 at 9:30am in St. Mary’s Church of the Immaculate Conception, 134 S. Washington Street, Wilkes-Barre. Those attending are asked to go directly to the church on Monday morning. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call Sunday, June 5, 2016 from 5pm-8pm at the Peter J. Adonizio Funeral Home, 251 William Street, Pittston. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Mary’s Church of the Immaculate Conception.
