Edward J. Smith, 75, of Pittston, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2016. Born in Exeter on February 20, 1941, he was the son of the late John R. and Leona Litts Smith.
Edward attended Exeter schools. Prior to retirement, he was employed as a maintenance worker at St. John the Evangelist Church and Cemetery, Pittston for over 25 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Dotty (Dougher) Smith; brothers, John and Joseph Smith; sister, Grace Cope.
Surviving are brothers, Dale Smith, Louisiana and Daniel Smith, North Carolina; sister, Mary Smith; sister-in-law, Eleanor Smith, Wyoming, PA; numerous nieces, and nephews.
Friends may call from 11:00am until 12 noon Saturday at the Peter J. Adonizio Funeral Home, 251 William Street, Pittston. A blessing service will follow at 12noon. Interment, St. John the Evangelist Cemetery.
