Charlotte Marie Luchetti


Charlotte Marie Luchetti, 83, of Pittston, passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday Evening, July 10, 2016 surrounded by her family. She was born in the Midvale Section of Plains Township, and was the daughter of the late Andrew and Susan (Kosco) Latsko.

Charlotte graduated from Plains High School in 1950. She worked 34 years for Social Security Administration, first in the Wilkes-Barre Office, then retiring after working at the East Mountain facility. She also had worked as a dietary aide at Maffett Street Elementary School in Plains.

A woman of strong faith, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Ottavio Luchetti on February 1, 2012, her sister Emily Loss, brothers John, George, and Edward (Jim). Surviving are her children, son Retired Army Colonel James Michael, daughter Mia McLean and her husband Joseph, son Mark Anthony and his Wife Gigi, her two loving granddaughters, Anna Michaela and Erin Marie, as well as loving nieces and nephews.

In life, she enjoyed spending many vacations with her family, particularly her times along the Eastern Coast Beaches, crocheting baby blankets, and working her puzzle books. She was very active as a youth with her parish at St. Mary’s Byzantine Church in Wilkes-Barre, involved and participating in many of their functions. She later became a parishioner at St. Joseph Marello Parish in Pittson, PA. Funeral services will be Friday, July 15, 2016 at 9:00am from the Peter J. Adonizio Funeral Home, 251 William Street, Pittston with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am in St. Joseph Marello Parish, 237 William Street, Pittston. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Byzantine Cemetery, Dallas. Family and friends may call Thursday, July 14, 2016 from 5pm-8pm at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Wilkes-Barre or St. Joseph Marello Church in Pittston.
