Alice Marie Nocito


Alice Marie Nocito, 77, of the Suscon Section of Pittston Township, passed away Friday evening, August 12, 2016 in Highland Manor, Exeter surrounded by her family, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Born in Suscon, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Alice Antal Renfer.

She was a graduate of St. John the Evangelist High School, Pittston and a member of St. Joseph Marello Parish, Pittston.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt; her family was most important in her life; and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant brother, Paul and a brother, Merle Renfer.

Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Michael Nocito; children, Eileen Murdock and her husband Ken, Elysburg; Cheryl Zekoski and her husband Ken, Harding; Karen O’Donovan and her husband Mick, Suscon; Michael Nocito and his wife Ellen, Suscon; Leah Ostrum and her husband Fred, Dallas; and Amy Miller and her husband Dave, Suscon; 15 grandchildren, Kenneth Murdock and his wife Chrysta; Elizabeth Murdock; Shannon Saporito and her husband Matt; Alyssa Zekoski; Mickey O’Donovan and his wife Danielle; Matthew O’Donovan; Cassie Nocito; Michael Nocito; Jessica Marascio and her husband Dan; Nicholas Ostrum and his wife Lacey; Christopher Ostrum; Megan Ostrum; Maria Ostrum; Kara Miller and Kylie Miller; 7 great-grandchildren, Kenley and Reese Murdock; Nora O’Donovan; Hunter and Logan Marascio; and Kamber and Kayleigh Ostrum; sisters, Geraldine Gall, Rita Brady and her husband Daniel and Leah Brady; brother, Donald Renfer and his wife Annamae, all of Suscon; brothers-in-law, James Nocito, West Pittston and Frank Nocito and his wife Janice, Suscon; sister-in-law, Marie Solano and her husband Patrick, Pittston Township; numerous nieces and nephews.

Special thank you to the staff of Highland Manor and especially Cheryl Scalzo for the wonderful care they provided to Mrs. Nocito.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 12:30pm from the Peter J. Adonizio Funeral Home, 251 William Street, Pittston with a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00pm in St. Joseph Marello Parish, 237 William Street, Pittston. Friends may call Wednesday from 10:00am until 12:30pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in St. Rocco’s Cemetery, Pittston Township.
