Margaret J. Jordan, 88, of Mountain Top, passed away Sunday, September 11, 2016 in Mountain Top Senior Care Center. Born in Ashley on May 31, 1928, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Stipa.
She attended St. Leo’s Schools in Ashley and in her earlier years, had worked for the American Tobacco Company. She resided in Mountain Top most of her life and was a member of St. Jude Parish for over 60 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and will be deeply missed. She loved animals and nature.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Leonard Jankowski and her second husband, Daniel Jordan; brothers, Theodore and Isadore Stipa; son-in-law, Drew Stephens.
Surviving are her daughter Mary Ann Swank and her husband Ronald, Mountain Top; grandchildren, Joseph Wiendl, Cocoa Beach, FL; Jay Wiendl and his wife Kerri, Hilton Head, SC; great-grandchildren, Drew; Cooper; Rex; and Connor Wiendl; numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at 10:00 in St. Jude Parish, 420 S. Mountain Boulevard, Mountain Top. Those attending are asked to go directly to the church. Entombment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, 49 S. Hunter Hwy, Drums. Friends may call Tuesday, September 13, 2016 from 6pm to 8pm at the Peter J. Adonizio Funeral Home, 251 William Street, Pittston. Due to her love of animals, the family requests memorial donations be made to the SPCA, 524 East Main Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702.
