William “Russ” Adrian


William “Russ” Adrian, 80, of Pittston, passed away Saturday, September 24, 2016 in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born in Pittston on July 28, 1936, he was the son of the late William and Mary Ruschel Adrian.

He was a graduate of Pittston High School and although receiving a basketball scholarship to West Virginia University; he enlisted in the U.S. Army.

In his earlier years, he had worked at Chamberlain Manufacturing and Gould Battery. He enjoyed sports and playing cards. He was a member of Our Lady of the Eucharist Parish, Pittston.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Romayne Adrian in 2012.

Surviving are his daughters Debra Adrian and her spouse JoAnn Seppelt, Philadelphia and Donna Adrian and her husband Jim Fitzpatrick, Pittston; as well as his companion Mary Jean Coolbaugh.

The family is grateful for the excellent care and compassion provided by Dr. Biscotti and the nurses in the SICU at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, October 3, 2016 at 9:30am in Our Lady of the Eucharist Parish, 535 N. Main Street, Pittston. The family will receive friends and relatives in the church Monday morning from 9:00am until the time of mass. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Assumption Cemetery, Rock Street, Hughestown. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Greater Pittston Food Pantry, 35 William Street, Pittston. Arrangements are entrusted to the Peter J. Adonizio Funeral Home, 251 William Street, Pittston.
