Lorraine M. Zielinski of West Pittston passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home with her family beside her on Sunday, October 30, 2016.
Lorraine was the daughter of the late George and Emma Cesare Menn. Lorraine was a 1961 graduate of West Pittston High School; a 1965 graduate of Mansfield University and additionally received a master’s degree from the University of Scranton. She was a teacher in the Dallas and Wyoming Area School Districts; spending the majority of her teaching career at Wyoming Area Catholic School. Lorraine was very active in her community and loved volunteering at her parish, Immaculate Conception Church.
She will be deeply missed by her husband, children and grandchildren. Lorraine especially loved seeing their smiles and hearing their laughter as well as spoiling them with love and gifts. She will always be remembered as being a giving, loving woman with the most beautiful smile.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, George L. Menn.
Lorraine is survived by her husband of 48 years, Jack; son, John C. Zielinski of Pittsburgh; daughter, Marla T. Zielinski and her daughter, Mia of Mooresville, NC; daughter, Nicole Zielinski Naples and her husband Paul and their children, Anthony and Gianna of Gainesville, VA; sister, Irma Menn Bruno of VA; aunts, nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at 11:00am in Corpus Christi Parish, Immaculate Conception Church, 605 Luzerne Avenue, West Pittston. The family will receive friends and relatives in the church from 9am until the time of mass. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Peter J. Adonizio Funeral Home, 251 William Street, Pittston.
