Samuel (Mike) Nardone,Sr.


Samuel (Mike) Nardone,Sr., 90, of the Old Boston Section of Jenkins Township, passed away Friday, November 25, 2016 in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center. Born on September 1 1926 in the Old Boston section of Jenkins Township, he was the son of the late Giuseppe and Raefulcuia DeStefano Nardone.

Samuel was a graduate of Jenkins Township High School. He served his country proudly in the US Navy during World War II, serving in the Pacific as a Petty Officer. He was self-employed in the trucking industry for many years.

He was a member of St. Joseph Marello Parish, Pittston.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary (Kurilla) Nardone; son, Samuel M. Nardone, Jr.; daughter, JoAnn Nardone; brothers, Alexander (Sandy), Joseph, Frank and Victor Nardone; sisters, Yolanda ‘CiCi YaYa’ Tancredi and Victoria Nardone.

Surviving are his son, Francis Nardone and his wife (Diane), Saylorsburg; grandchildren, Stephanie Nestor and partner John Durko); Christina Nardone; Nicole Nardone; and Matthew Nardone and Mary Bogdanovicz; sisters, Ann Presciutti, Dallas and Marguerite Aquilina and her husband Tony, Dupont; sister-in-law, Norma Nardone, Plains Township; numerous nieces and nephews. Frank and Diane would like to thank his nephew, Michael and wife Mary of Old Boston for all the help they gave to ‘Uncle Mike’ throughout the years.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 29, 2019 at 9am from the Peter J. Adonizio Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am in St. Joseph Marello Parish, 237 William Street Pittston.

Interment will held at the convenience of the family in Denison Cemetery, Swoyersville.

Friends May call Monday at the funeral home from 5 to 8PM.
