James E. English, 90, of Pittston, passed away Saturday, December 3, 2016 at home. Born in Somerset, PA on August 1, 1926, he was the son of the late Eugene and Irene Beal English.
He was a high school graduate and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married his wife the late Evelyn M. English after World War II and moved to Maryland.
Prior to retirement, he had worked as a dispatcher for Potomac and Edison Electric in Maryland. He later relocated to Pittston.
He was a member of the Christian Mission Alliance Church, West Pittston.
Surviving are his son, David English, Pittston with whom he resided; daughter, Kathy Sindel, Williamsport, MD; brothers, Walt English and his wife Joyce, NJ; and Richard English and his wife Charmaine, Arizona; 3 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; 1 great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at 7:30pm in the Peter J. Adonizio Funeral Home, 251 William Street, Pittston. Rev. Don Stroup will officiate. Friends may call from 5pm until the time of services at the funeral home. Interment, at the convenience of the family, in Fritz Cemetery, Garret, PA.
