John W. Paglianite


John W. Paglianite, 90, of the Glendale Section of Pittston Township passed away Saturday, December 3, 2016 in St. Mary’s Villa, Elmhurst. Born in Pittston on May 4, 1926, he was the son of the late Sam and Catherine Aruzzo Paglianite.

He was a graduate of Pittston Township High School and served in the U. S. Navy. He attended masonry school and was a self-employed mason. He was supervisor for Pittston Township for 24 years. He loved to dance and was well known as an excellent dancer. His family was everything to him. He will be greatly missed.

He was a member of St. Joseph Marello Parish, Pittston.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Loretta (Lis) Paglianite; daughters, Laura Paglianite and Linda Lolli; daughter-in-law, Carol Paglianite; brother, Frank Paglianite and sister, Rose Mary Paglianite.

Surviving are his children, Sam and his wife Margie, Glendale; Cathy Scoda and her husband Ralph, Jenkins Township; Jerry and his partner Gail Panetti, Pittston Township; Frank and his wife Lana, Clifton; Carl, Avoca; Henry, Avoca; Jean, Pittston; and Tony, Pittston; 11 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brother, Henry and his wife Marlene, NJ; sister, Ann Ardenti Ciocco, Philadelphia; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Friday, December 9, 2016 at 9:15am from the Peter J. Adonizio Funeral Home, 251 William Street, Pittston with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am in St. Joseph Marello Parish, 237 William Street, Pittston. Interment will follow in Ss Peter and Paul Cemetery, Duryea. Friends may call Friday morning from 8:15am until time of services at the funeral home.
