Cheryl Devers


Cheryl Devers, 65, of Wyoming, passed away Saturday, December 17, 2016 in Timber Ridge Health Care Center, Plains Township. Born in Pittston on August 17, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary E. “Molly” Rynne Devers.

Cheryl was a graduate of Wyoming Area High School, class of 1969 and Luzerne County Community College, class of 1971. She was currently employed by Fox Hill Country Club, Exeter where she had worked for 45 years. Cheryl began her career as a secretary in the office and for the last 35 years, she was Fox Hill’s Banquet Manager. Cheryl was blessed with an amazing skill in planning and organizing many special events. She took great pride in her job and made sure that every event was planned with care, impeccable taste, and attention to detail. Cheryl was kind and considerate to everyone she encountered in her professional life and in her personal life.

She is survived by her dear and loving friend, Tony Cella; brothers, James Devers and his wife Gail; and Joseph Devers and his wife Andrea; sisters, Jo Ellen Bell and her husband James; Marianne Devers and Thomas Melone; and Patricia Prociak and her husband Michael; nieces and nephews, Alison Arbacheski and her husband Jason and their daughter, Rynne; Megan Devers; Andrew, Kristen and Katie Bell; Joey Devers; Michael, Rebecca, Nicholas and Matthew Prociak.

The family would like to acknowledge the kindness and generosity of the Board of Directors of Fox Hill Country Club, Shane Bradley, Fox Hill General Manager, and all the Fox Hill Staff during this difficult time.

Also, thank you to Dr. David Greenwald, Dr. Guy Fasciana, and Dr. Vijay Vergia and their staffs, as well as the staff of Timber Ridge Health Care Center and Compassionate Care Hospice for their kindness and compassion. She will be truly missed by her family and many friends.

In accordance with Cheryl’s wishes, memorial donations be made to The Colleen Shea Children’s Foundation, 1086 Highway 315 Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at 11am in Corpus Christi Parish, Immaculate Conception Church, 605 Luzerne Avenue, West Pittston. Those attending are asked to go directly to the church on Wednesday morning. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Carverton. Friends may call Tuesday, December 20, 2016 from 4pm-8pm at the Peter J. Adonizio Funeral Home, 251 William Street, Pittston.
