Kathryn A. Russick


Kathryn A. Russick, 76, of Duryea, passed away Friday, February 17, 2017 in Wesley Village, Pittston. Born in Pittston on December 28, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Sara (Sadie) Finnerty Killian.

She was a graduate of St. John the Evangelist High School, Pittston. In her earlier years, she had worked in the local garment industry. She had also worked for Gertrude Hawk Chocolates at the Pittston Plaza and later worker in home health care. She was an active member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish; having served as Eucharistic minister.

Kathryn was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family was her passion. She enjoyed traveling especially trips to the beach. She was always willing to help others.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Raymond and George Killian; sisters, Jane Finan; Ruth Mascetti and Sally Ann Killian Justis.

Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Joseph Russick; sons, Joseph Russick and his wife Michele, Emerald Isle, NC; and Paul Russick and his wife Tammy, Avoca; grandchildren, Brenna Welsh and her husband Cpt. Nathaniel Welsh, Odenton, MD; Joseph Ryan Russick, NC; Ian Russick, Conway, SC; Paul Russick Jr. and his wife Stephanie, Cape Carteret, NC; and Alyssa Russick, Swansboro, NC; great grandchildren, Nate and Liam Welsh, MD; and Reagan Kathryn Russick, NC; numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 9:30am in Nativity of Our Lord Parish, 127 Stephenson Street, Duryea. Those attending are asked to go directly to the church on Tuesday morning. Interment, parish cemetery. Friends may call Monday, February 20, 2017 from 5pm-8pm at Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Wounded Warriors Project.
