John A. Stravinski


John A. Stravinski, 80, of Pittston Township, passed away Sunday, March 12, 2017 in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born in Pittston on September 21, 1936, he was the son of the late John and Marie Sweetra Stravinski.

He was a graduate of Pittston Township High School and served in the US Army during the Korean War.

He retired from Atlas Chain and Cable Company having worked as a precision chain worker and committee man.

He was a loving husband and father to his five daughters and their families. He will be truly missed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Ann Marie Dutter and Rita Stravinski; and a brother, Carl Stravinski.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Susan Bocci Stravinski; daughters, Rita Dructor and her husband George, Pittston; Mary Nardone and her husband Michael, Old Boston Section of Jenkins Township; Susan Skursky and her husband Thomas, West Wyoming; Carol Paglianite and her husband Vince, Pittston Township and Theresa Slucki and her husband Frank, Drums; 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Friday, March 17, 2017 at 9:15am from Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am in St. Joseph Marello Parish, 237 William Street, Pittston. The family will receive friends and relatives Friday morning from 8:15am-9:15am in the funeral home. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in St. John the Evangelist Cemetery, Pittston.
