Janet M. Kolmansperger


Janet M. Kolmansperger, 91, of West Pittston passed away peacefully Thursday April 6, 2017 in Wesley Village, Pittston. Born in Pittston on October 1, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Burke and Estelle McGraw Wall and the step daughter of the late Peter Wall.

Janet was a graduate of St. John’s High School, Pittston class of 1944. She was an active member of Corpus Christi Parish, West Pittston, where she was a choir member, a lector, a member of the Altar and Rosary Society, and a member of the Corpus Christi Prayer Group. Janet was a former board member of the West Pittston Community Ambulance Association and past Grand Marshal of the West Pittston Cherry Blossom Festival. She was a volunteer cafeteria worker for St. John’s High School and later Seton Catholic High School for almost 40 years. In her later years Janet worked as a librarian at the West Pittston Public Library.

In addition to her parents Janet was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Kolmansperger and son Peter Kolmansperger.

She is survived by her daughter Theresa Hannon, Avoca, son Mark Kolmansperger, West Pittston, sister-in-law Margaret Pitel, Endicott, New York and daughter-in-law Pamela Kolmansperger, West Pittston. She is also survived by grandchildren; Shelly Hannon, Kelly and Tom Connors, Maureen Hannon, Christina and Eric Fritz, Kolette Kolmansperger, and Joseph Kolmansperger, great grandsons TJ and Sean Connors and Colin Kolmansperger.

Funeral services will begin at 9:00 am Monday at Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC 251 William Street Pittston, a mass of Christian Burial will be held 9:30 am Monday at Corpus Christi Parish, 605 Luzerne Ave. West Pittston. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Carverton. Visitation will be held Sunday night from 4-8PM at the funeral home.
