Richard J. Worosilla, 76, of Pittston Township, passed away at home on Tuesday, May 9, 2017. Born in Pittston on August 4, 1940, he was the son of the late Joseph and Rose (Jacobchik) Worosilla.
He attended St. John the Evangelist High School, Pittston and graduated from Johnson School of Technology, Scranton. He was a member of the Army Reserves. He was a member of St. Joseph Marello Parish and a life member of Pittston Township Fire Department. Richard retired as a tool and die maker from Ashley Machine and Tool Company in Wyoming.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Richard loved gardening and spending time with his family and especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s activities. He was a New York Yankees and Dallas Cowboys fan and had a special bond with his grandson Connor talking about sports.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Delores Rose.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Francine (Clause) Worosilla; son, Gary Worosilla and his wife Diana, Pittston Township; daughter, Denise Manganiello and her husband Jonathan, Duryea; grandchildren, Alexander, Gillian, and Skylar Worosilla and Connor and Noah Manganiello; sister, Carol Worosilla Wasley and her husband John, Port St. Lucie, Florida; numerous nieces and nephews.
Richard’s family would like to especially thank Dr. Charles Manganiello for the excellent care he provided to Richard.
Funeral services will be Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 9:30am from Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Joseph Marello Parish, 237 William Street, Pittston. Entombment will be at the convenience of the family in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Carverton. Friends may call Friday, May 12, 2017 from 5pm-8pm at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made in Richard’s name to the Pittston Township Volunteer Fire Department.
