Marie E. Oliver, 75, of Hughestown, passed away Thursday, June 29, 2017 in River Run Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Kingston.
Born in Duryea on September 23, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Kolesar) Waszkiewicz.
She was a graduate of Exeter High School. Marie had worked at Topps Chewing Gum and Valley Dress and retired from Sathers Candy.
She was a member of St. Joseph Marello Parish, Pittston. Marie enjoyed playing bingo and trips to the casino.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Oliver on August 18, 1989.
Surviving are her daughters Lisa Bressler and her husband Charles, Duryea and Philomena Zimmerman and her husband James, Hughestown; grandchildren, Melissa Bressler and Charles Bressler, Jr., Duryea and Mariah Zimmerman, Hughestown; sister, Joan Stachyra, Exeter; brothers, Michael Waszkiewicz and his wife Claire, Exeter and Daniel Waszkiewicz, Wilkes-Barre; sisters-in-law, Nancy Doblovasky, Pittston and Mary Oliver, Harding; numerous nieces and nephews and her beloved cat, Cali.
Funeral services will be Monday, July 3, 2017 at 9:00am from Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am in St. Joseph Marello Parish, 237 William Street, Pittston. Interment will follow in West Pittston Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday, July 2, 2017 from 5pm-8pm at the funeral home.
