Mary Capitano, 101, of Old Forge, passed away Friday, July 21, 2017. Born in Old Forge on March 9, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Ross and Angela (Pagnotti) Gatto.
She attended Old Forge schools and worked in the local garment industry. Mary was one of the oldest members of St. Joseph Marello Parish, Pittston.
She enjoyed playing cards and traveling. Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Angelo Capitano; brothers Pat, Anthony and Dominick Gatto; and sisters Rose Capitano, Philomena Mantione, and Victoria Latona.
Surviving are her children, Samuel Capitano and his wife Theresa, Wilkes-Barre; Patricia Minots and her husband Anthony, The Villages, FL; Angela Locascio and her husband Salvatore, Old Forge and Deb Rosenberg and her husband David, Perkasie; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; cousins and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at 9am from Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am in St. Joseph Marello Parish, Pittston. Interment, St. Rocco’s Cemetery, Pittston Township. Friends may call Monday, July 24, 2017 from 5pm-8pm at the funeral home.
