Jerry L. Walker


Jerry L. Walker, 80 of West Pittston, passed away Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley. Born in Sidney, Ohio on April 22, 1937, he was the son of the late Shelby and Beulah Potts Walker.

Jerry served our country in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany, Thailand, and Vietnam, during the Vietnam War. Jerry earned the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 2 (CW2). After retiring from the U.S. Army with 20 years of service, Jerry worked as a diesel mechanic for American Asphalt and Banks Equipment. Jerry was a member of the MOAA, Military Officers Association of America, the Dupont VFW Post 189, and the Larksville American Legion Post 655. Jerry loved going on cruises and taking trips to Atlantic City. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be truly missed.

In addition to his parents, Jerry is preceded in death by an infant daughter, Karen Leah, in 1972 and his 7 older brothers; Robert, Charles, Frank, Paul, Bill, Francis, and John Walker as well as brother-in-law, Dante Bovani, Sr.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Eleanore Manoski Walker; daughters, Maria Walker, Scranton and Michelle and her husband, Michael Fulmer, West Pittston; and son, Jerry B. Walker and his wife, Melissa of Pittston Township; grandchildren, Jerry, Jakob and Breanna Walker and Daniella and Michael Fulmer; and his beloved dog, Chloe. Also surviving are sisters-in-law, Bernice and her husband, Robert Puchalski, NJ, Gloria Bovani, West Pittston, and Karen and her husband, John Turco, Dallas; brother- in-law, Stanley and his wife, Janice Manoski, NJ; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held Friday, October 13, 2017 from 5-9PM at Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 10AM. The family will receive friends from 9AM until time of service. Interment will follow in West Pittston Cemetery.
