James P. Murphy

Jim was a true gentleman. He was honest, hardworking, loyal, and witty. He was always there for anyone in need. He loved life and lived his 85 years to the fullest. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family and numerous friends. He was a winemaker, a fisherman, an avid Penn State fan, and enjoyed nothing more than supporting his grandchildren in all of their activities, sports, concerts, and plays. Throughout the years, he and his wife also enjoyed their grandson’s band, 3IB’s weekly gigs, many times until the early morning hours. He also enjoyed his backyard pool parties, adept at doing back flips off the diving board.

He was especially happy last year when he and his wife treated their family to a memorable trip to Keuka Lake where they all enjoyed boating, fishing, campfires, and wine tasting.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by an infant daughter, Lori Ann; brothers, John, Thomas, and Paul Murphy; sisters, Sarah Callahan and Claire Bohan.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Lorraine Carnevali Murphy; daughters, Deborah and her husband, Robert Husty of Wilkes-Barre and Diane and her husband, Nick Lello of Carlisle; and grandchildren, Robert and Timothy Husty and Megan, Nicholas, Christopher and Julia Lello.
