Emma Marie Gagliardi, 89, formerly of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Thursday, November 2, 2017 in Elm Terrace Skilled Nursing Facility, Lansdale. Born in Pittston on November 17, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Rose Chaump Galli.
She was a graduate of Pittston Township High School.
Emma married William L. Gagliardi, Sr. and lived in Wilkes-Barre for 67 years. She was an active member of the former Holy Rosary Church, Wilkes-Barre and was involved in all of the church’s activities.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt and will be truly missed.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William; brothers, Louis, Frederick and Eugene Galli.
Surviving are her sons, William L. Gagliardi, Jr. and his wife Frances, Lansdale and Peter J. Gagliardi, Wilkes-Barre; grandchildren, William J. Gagliardi, and Gregory J. Gagliardi and his wife Sarah; great-grandchildren, Lillian and Annie Gagliardi; sister, Phyllis Smacchi, Pittston; sister-in-law, Philomena Galli, Pittston Township; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Monday, November 6, 2017 at 9:15am from Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am in St. Joseph Marello Parish. The family will receive friends and relatives from 8am until 9:15am at the funeral home. Entombment, St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township.
