Arthur P. Pupa, Sr.


Arthur P. Pupa, Sr., 97, of the Old Boston Section of Jenkins Township, passed away Saturday, November 4, 2017 in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township. Born in Pittston on November 30, 1919, he was the son of the late Anthony A. and Lucy Gillis Pupa.

Arthur was a member of St. Joseph Marello Parish, Pittston.

He was a former member of Fox Hill Country Club where he was an avid golfer for many years. He was a member of the Roma Club of Old Boston and a former officer of the Jenkins Township Senior Citizen Group. Arthur was an avid fan of the NY Yankees, NY Giants and North Carolina Tar Heels.

Prior to retirement, he had worked for the PA Turnpike Commission.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Eunice Johnston Pupa; his second wife, Linda DeMark Pupa; grandson, A.J. Pupa; and brothers, Walter E. Pupa and Edward J. Pupa.

Surviving are sons, Anthony E. Pupa and his wife, Jean, Pittston and Arthur P. Pupa, Jr. and his wife, Cindy, Jenkins Township; grandchildren, Lisa Pupa and Arthur P. Pupa, III and his fiancé, Alyssa Langdon; sisters-in-law, Gloria Pupa and Delores Seman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, November 9, 2017 at 9:30am in St. Joseph Marello Parish, 237 William Street, Pittston. Those attending are asked to go directly to the church on Thursday morning. Interment will be private in Denison Cemetery, Swoyersville. Friends may call Wednesday, November 8, 2017 from 4pm to 7pm at Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Center, 2010 Adams Avenue, Scranton, PA 18509.
