Sarah E. Mayhoff, 28, of Kansas City, Mo., and originally of Dupont, passed away Monday, Dec. 18, 2017 as the result of an automobile accident.
She was born March 8, 1989 to John “Fox” Mayhoff and Teresa (O’Fier) Mayhoff. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her loving brothers, Tony Mayhoff and his wife, Molly, John Mayhoff and his wife, Dacey, Michael Mayhoff and his wife, Megan, and Sam Mayhoff. She will also be missed by her nephews, John Anthony Mayhoff and James Mayhoff; her grandmothers, Helen “Babci” (Turkos) Mayhoff and Genevieve (Sauter) O’Fier; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Stanley Mayhoff and Gerald O’Fier; her aunt, Alice (Mayhoff) Ernst; and her cousin, William Ernst II.
Sarah was not a person you could describe in a single paragraph, or reduce to a list of hobbies. She fiercely loved her family and friends. She loved animals, music, cheese (especially cheese fries), glitter, and all things French. She radiated light, and brought love and laughter into every life she touched.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 pm on Thursday, December 28 at Back Mountain Harvest Assembly Church (340 Carverton Rd., Trucksville, PA 18708). On Friday morning, services will commence at Back Mountain Harvest at 9 am with burial to follow at Mt. Olivet cemetery.
Sarah was allergic to flowers, so the family asks that no flowers be sent to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to one of the causes that Sarah cared deeply about:
Organ and Tissue Donation - Donations made to The Midwest Transplant Network at 1900 W. 47th Place, Westward, KS 66205;
Sex Trafficking - Donations made to the “From Liberty to Captivity” documentary project.
Arrangements are entrusted to Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston.
