Joseph F. Schmidt, 77, of Duryea, passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Geisinger Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre. Born in Pittston, he was the son of the late Joseph and Nellie (Jeyschune) Schmidt.
After serving in the National Guard, he was self-employed as a contractor and later worked for Lowe’s Home Improvement until his retirement.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon.
Surviving are his daughters, Lisa Schmidt, Exeter; Lori Nocito and husband, Frank, Exeter; Stephanie Schmidt, Old Forge; stepdaughter, Michelle Monelli and husband, Brad; stepson, William Raniello and wife, Natalie; and grandchildren, Gabriella and Mia.
Friends may call on Friday, January 19, 2018 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William St., Pittston. The funeral will be held at the convenience of the family.
