Virginia Adonizio, 87, of Kingston, passed away Friday, January 26, 2018 in Geisinger Medical Center, Danville after a lengthy illness.
Born in Luzerne on October 8, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Giuseppe and Francesa Disano Paratori. She attended Luzerne schools. She was married to the late Joseph A. Adonizio, who preceded her in death in 1983.
Jenny enjoyed cooking, baking, and entertaining family and friends for many years. She was a woman of strong faith and prayer.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Marie; and brothers, George, Carl, Philip, Anthony, and Joseph.
Surviving are her longtime caregiver, son, Phillip Adonizio, Kingston; daughter, Donna Adonizio Santasania (Carmen), State College; numerous sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at 10am at Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston. Friends may call Tuesday, January 30, 2018, from 4-6pm and Wednesday, January 31, 2018 from 9am until the time of the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Tennessee, or Deborah Heart and Lung Hospital, Browns Mills, New Jersey.
