Josephine Ann “Cini” DiGennari


Josephine Ann “Cini” DiGennari, 78, of Pittston Township, passed away unexpectedly at home Wednesday, March 14, 2018. Born in Pittston Township on January 1, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Josephine Chaump Mattei.

She was a graduate of Pittston Township High School, class of 1957 and Lackawanna Junior College.

She was self-employed as a beautician. Cini was an active member of St. Joseph Marello Parish, Pittston where she was also the treasurer of the Altar and Rosary Society. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John DiGennari in 1996; brother, Martin L. Mattei; sisters, Genevieve Vennarini, Margaret Sitko and Philomena Noto.

Surviving are her daughter Lisa DiGennari Cahill and her husband Stuart, Dallas; granddaughter Lauren Anderika; sister Catherine “Tootsie” D’Angelo, Yatesville; numerous niece, nephews and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, March 19, 2018 at 9:30am in St. Joseph Marello Parish, 237 William Street, Pittston. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Carverton. The family will receive friends and relatives in church from 8am until time of mass on Monday morning.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Camp Braveheart, 19 Cambridge Road, Albany, NY 12203. Arrangements are entrusted to Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston.
