Rose Latorre


Rose Latorre, 97, of Pittston, passed away into the hands of the Lord Tuesday, March 20, 2018, in Highland Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Exeter. Born February 27, 1921, she was the daughter of the late James and Anne Lombardo DeRosa.

She was a graduate of Pittston High School and was employed in the local garment industry working for Lee Manufacturing for many years. She was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union of America.

Rose was a member of St. Joseph Marello Parish, Pittston. She was a loving, kind person who would do anything for anyone and gave to anyone who was in need.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of forty years, Charles Latorre; brothers Charles, Joseph and John DeRosa, Sr.; sister Nellie Montante and brother-in-law Peter Montante.

Rose is survived by a nephew John DeRosa, Jr., NY a niece Ann DeRosa, Middletown, NY and sister-in-law, Gloria DeRosa, Pittston.

Special thank you to Dr. Manganiello for years of kindness and care as well as to the staff of Highland Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the care they provided Rose.

According to Rose’s wishes there will be no calling hours.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 1:00pm in St. Joseph Marello Parish, 237 William Street, Pittston. Entombment will follow in Denison Cemetery, Swoyersville. Arrangements are entrusted to Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston.
