Doris C. Evans, 93, of Swoyersville, passed away Friday, May 4, 2018 in the Gardens at East Mountain, Plains Township.
Born in Pittston on July 24, 1924, she was the daughter of the late James and Eleanor Feeley Price.
She was a graduate of Pittston High School and retired from the ALF-CIO where she had worked as a receptionist.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Evans; sister Eleanor Hurrey; nephews Joseph and John Ankenbrand and William Evans; and nieces Charlotte Laskowski and Ellie Mae Hurrey.
Surviving are her sister Elizabeth Ankenbrand, Hughestown; nephews Fran Ankenbrand and his wife Patricia, Duryea, James Hurrey and his wife Marie, Florida; nieces Helen Ankenbrand, Dallas and Roseann Ankenbrand, West Pittston; numerous great nieces and great nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 2:00pm in Our Lady of the Eucharist Parish, 535 N. Main Street, Pittston. Those attending are asked to go directly to the church on Saturday. Interment, St. Mary’s Assumption Cemetery, Hughestown. Family will receive friends and relatives on Friday, May 11, 2018 from 5pm-8pm at Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street.
