Elaine Centi, 82, of Yatesville, passed away Friday, July 13, 2018 in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center surrounded by her family and friends. Born in Yatesville on October 9, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Philip and Helen Shuleski Dunn.
She was a graduate of Pittston Township High School. In her earlier years, Elaine had worked in the local garment industry. Elaine was the current tax collector for Yatesville borough; a position in which she succeeded her mother who held the job for many years.
She was a life member of St. Joseph Marello Parish, Pittston. Elaine loved to cook and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and will be truly missed.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene J. Centi in 2004; son Eugene Centi in 2013; and brother Alexander Dunn.
Surviving are her son David Centi, Bear Creek Township; two grandsons, David Centi and his wife Amy, Bear Creek Township, and Alan Centi and Erin Patterson, Bear Creek Township; two great-grandsons Gino and Brody Centi; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at 9am from Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am in St. Joseph Marello Parish, 237 William Street, Pittston. Interment will follow in St. Rocco’s Cemetery, Pittston Township. Friends may call Tuesday, July 17, 2018 from 5pm-8pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph Marello Parish or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
