Joseph F. Fahey


Joseph F. Fahey, 74, of Pittston, originally of Inkerman, passed away Friday, September 7, 2018, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center.

Born in Pittston on September 29, 1943, he was the son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Shovlin) Fahey.

Joe was a graduate of St. John’s High School, Pittston. Earlier in his career, he worked for Acme Warehouse and Addy Asphalt until its closure. He retired from American Asphalt. He was also owner/operator of Universal Line Painting.

He was a former member of St. Rocco’s Church, now St. Joseph Marello Parish, Pittston. He was a member of the Heavy and Highway Construction Workers’ Local Union No. 158.

Joe was a loving husband and father; and a loyal friend who will be missed by many.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John “Jack” J. Fahey.

Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Josephine (Amico) Fahey; son Joseph Fahey and his wife Gia, Pittston Township; sisters Catherine and her husband Charles Adonizio, Inkerman and Nancy Sattely, NJ; sister-in-law Mary E. Fahey, Inkerman; brother-in-law, Cataldo (Ky) Amico and his wife Noreen, Pittston; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at 9:30am in St. Joseph Marello Parish, 237 William Street, Pittston. Those attending are asked to go directly to the church on Wednesday morning, as there will be no procession from the Funeral Home. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Friends may call Tuesday, September 11, 2018 from 5pm-8pm at Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston.
