Michael Louis Pompino, 87, formerly of Pittston and West Pittston, passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2018 in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Pittston on April 18, 1931, he was the son of the late Victor and Philomena Serpe Pompino.
He was a graduate of Pittston High School and served in the US Army.
He had worked in the local garment industry, retiring from Leslie Fay. Mike also worked for Patte’s Sports Bar for more than 20 years. Mike was a snowbird for the last twenty years, wintering in West Palm Beach, Florida returning for the summers to Camp Onawandah, Tunkhannock. He was a member of St. Barbara’s Parish, Exeter and the ILGWU.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings Angelo Pompino, Charles Pompino, Carrie Borino, Grace Guiliano, Rose Stockmal and Mary Kozinski.
He is survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Friday, September 28, 2018 at 9:00am from Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am in St. Barbara’s Parish, 28 Memorial Street, Exeter. Interment, St. John the Evangelist Cemetery, Pittston. Friends may call Thursday, September 27, 2018 from 5pm-8pm at the funeral home.
