Mildred L. Zurek, 85 formerly of Dupont passed away Monday October 1, 2018 in Riverside Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Taylor.
Born in Archbald she was the daughter of the late Frank and Helen Bogoslawski Loff. She attended Archbald schools and worked in the local garment industry.
She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Dupont, a former Board Director of Riverside Rehabilitation and Nursing Center and the Dupont VFW Lady’s Auxiliary.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be truly missed.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Edward Zurek and son Alan Zurek; and brothers Vincent, Walter and Gregory Loff and Joseph Loposky.
She is survived by her son Edward Zurek and his wife Alane, Suscon, daughter Linda Finnerty and her husband Michael, Old Forge; grandchildren, Edward Zurek Jr. and Lisa, Dupont, Lauren Zurek, Long Island, NY, Kerry Ann Hoffman and Michael, Old Forge, Michael Finnerty, Jr. and Kaity, Drums, Brian Finnerty, Allentown, Sara Zurek, Dupont, Danielle Zurek and Jessica Gasper, West Pittston, and Emily Zurek, Philadelphia; great-grandson Gregory Zurek; sisters Rose and husband Stephen Franchak, and Alice Petroak all of Jermyn, Viola Kryzwiec and Helen and husband Joseph Simon all of Archbald; and brothers Paul Loff of Mifflinville and Stanley and wife Lorraine Loff of Jermyn.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, October 5, 2018 at 10AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 215 Lackawanna Ave., Dupont. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends may call Thursday, October 4, 2018 from 5-7PM at Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William St., Pittston.
