Mary P. Kovaleski, 73, formerly of Hughestown, passed away Saturday, October 27, 2018 in Wesley Village, Jenkins Township. Born in Pittston on January 18, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Agnes Gavin Dougher.
Mary was a graduate of Jenkins Township High School. In her earlier years, she had worked as a bookkeeper for Quality Beverage and Insalaco’s.
She was a life member and served as a Eucharist Minister at St. John the Evangelist Church, Pittston. Mary enjoyed caring for her family. She was a loving mother, sister and aunt and will be truly missed.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph A. Kovaleski; daughter Diane M. Kovaleski; sister Ann Hughes and sister-in-law Sara Dougher.
Surviving are her son Joseph (Jody) Kovaleski, Pittston; sister Joan Butler and her husband Jerry, Pittston; brothers Joseph Dougher, Scranton and Paul Dougher, Norwich, NY; numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at 9:30am in St. John the Evangelist Church, 35 William Street, Pittston. Those attending are asked to go directly to the church on Tuesday morning. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Carverton. Friends may call Monday, October 29, 2018 from 5pm-8pm at Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston.
