William J. Emmel


William J. Emmel, 75, born December 10, 1942 in Scranton, Pennsylvania died peacefully at home under the exceptional care of Erwine’s Home Health and Hospice of Kingston November 8, 2018.

He was the son of the late William and Claire Langan Emmel. He was the compassionate, loving and devoted husband of Ann Marie (DeLuca) Emmel. William served in the U.S. Navy at the time of the Bay of Pigs. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a degree in Psychology. He attended Kings College to study computer science. William was a Systems Analyst for Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania.

Surviving are his wife, nephews, nieces and cousins. Most especially, his nephew Carl Semenza and his fiancé Kathy who William loved dearly.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, November 12, 2018 at 10am in St. Maria Goretti Church, 42 Redwood Drive, Laflin. The Parish Rosary Group will recite the Divine Mercy Chaplet and Rosary in the church ½ hour before the funeral mass.

The family will receive friends and relatives in the church from 9am until time of mass on Monday. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family in St. John the Evangelist Cemetery, Pittston. Arrangements are entrusted to Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston.
