Joan C. Linskey, of Warren Street, West Pittston, died Friday, November 30, 2018 in Highland Manor Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Exeter. Born in Pittston, she was a daughter of the late Vincent and Helen Lynch Collier.
Mrs. Linskey was a 1944 graduate of St. John’s High School and later attended the Dean School of Business. She was first employed by the Veterans Administration, also by the Blue Ridge Supply Company and lastly by the Bylite Corp.
Mrs. Linskey was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church and its Altar and Rosary Society. She was also, for many years, a trustee of West Pittston Library and served as past president. In addition, she was a long time member and past president of the West Pittston Women’s Club.
Surviving are three daughters, Ellen Linskey of West Pittston; Joanne Chewning of Wicomico Church, VA; and Elizabeth Pasquinelli of Plains; son-in-law Rush Chewning of Wicomico Church, VA; grandsons Joseph Wills Chewning of Richmond, VA and Robert Collier Chewning of Raleigh, NC; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph; sister Constance; and infant brother James.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Highland Manor for the care and compassion they provided over the last year.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at 12:00 noon in St. John the Evangelist Church, 35 William Street, Pittston. The family will receive friends and relatives in the church from 11am until the time of mass. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Care and Concern Ministries of St. John the Evangelist Church or to the West Pittston Library. Arrangements are entrusted to Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston.
