Jimmy Musto


Jimmy Musto, 90, of West Pittston, passed away at home Friday, December 14th.

Born in Pittston on December 9, 1928, he was the son of the late James and Jennie Ferretti Musto.

Jimmy was a graduate of West Pittston High School and attended Wilkes-Barre Business College. He was a lifelong upholsterer, master craftsman – operating his own business for decades. He was a member of St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church where he served as President of the Holy Name Society. Jimmy was known for his gregarious friendly nature. He loved conversation and laughter, but also fishing, maintaining his vegetable and rose gardens, traveling, walking dogs and spending time with family. His motto was, “There’s no such thing as can’t!”

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter Mariellen, grandson Patrick, and brother John.

Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Mary Lou (O’Keefe) Musto; son Ronald J. Musto (Mary Kay), Pittston; daughter M. C. Palladino (Edmund), Philadelphia; grandchildren John Musto and Lynne, Lauren, and Billy Gallagher (Tomoe); great grandchildren Alexis, Liam and Liah as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, December 19, at 10am in Corpus Christi Parish, 605 Luzerne Avenue, West Pittston. The family will receive friends and relatives in the church from 9am until the time of mass. Interment will follow in St. Cecelia’s Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers, family kindly requests donations to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (jdrf.org).
