Marianne Elizabeth Acierno, 55, of Hughestown, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2019, in Hospice of the Sacred Heart Inpatient Unit, Dunmore. Born July 13 1963, she was the daughter of Angela Barbera Acierno and the late Gaetano J. Acierno.
She was a graduate of Pittston Area High School and Luzerne County Community College.
Marianne (Mimi) was a loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend who will be truly missed. She was a selfless, kindhearted person who always cared for others.
Surviving in addition to her mother are her sister, Carolyn Orloski and her husband Frank, Moosic; brothers, Patrick Acierno, Hughestown and Vincent Acierno and his wife Elizabeth, Chapel Hill, NC; three nephews, Joshua Orloski and companion Alaina Fife, Mayfield; Jeremy Orloski and companion Ariella Sparr, NY; and Avery Acierno, Chapel Hill, NC; a niece, Katherine Acierno, Chapel Hill, NC; great-nephew, Avi Orloski, Mayfield; her extended families the William D’Elia Family, and the Lance Moscatelli Family, especially Michael Moscatelli, Hughestown; maternal aunt, Rose Valenti Ishley, Pittston and paternal aunt, Ann Acierno Belardi, Scranton, numerous cousins and friends, and special cousin Ross Valenti, Pittston.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at 10:30am in Our Lady of the Eucharist Parish, 535 N. Main Street, Pittston. Those attending are asked to go directly to the church on Tuesday morning. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may call Monday, June 3, 2019 from 5pm-8pm at Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 100 William St, Dunmore, PA 18510.
