Albert D. Occhiato, 82 of Laflin, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at Allied Services Center City, Wilkes-Barre.

Born in Pittston, he was the son of the late Dominick and Lucy Manganiello Occhiato.
Al was a graduate of West Pittston High School and served in the United States Army Reserves. After his service he received a Bachelor’s Degree from Bethel College, Tennessee, majoring in accounting. Al spent his career in accounting, the majority he was self-employed as a tax accountant and financial consultant.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years Mary Kovaleski Occhiato in 2023.
He is survived by his daughters, Tara Occhiato, West Pittston, Deanna Speicher and her husband AJ, Dallas and Maria Cassidy, Plains Twp.; sister, Marion Occhiato, West Pittston; grandchildren, Victoria Reggie, Jacob Speicher, Nicholas Speicher, and Kayla Cassidy; sister-in-law; Joanne Kovaleski, Jenkins Township; brother-in-law, Joseph Kovaleski, Jenkins Township, nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM in Saint Maria Goretti Church, 42 Redwood Drive, Laflin, on Monday, January 12, 2026.
The family will receive friends and relatives in the church from 9:00 AM until the time of mass.
The Parish Rosary Group of Saint Maria Goretti Church will recite the Rosary and Divine Mercy Chaplet at 9:30 AM, in the church.
Interment will follow in Denison Cemetery, Swoyersville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the donor’s choice.
Arrangements are entrusted to Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC- Pittston.
