Ann Marie Bartorillo

Ann Marie Bartorillo, 81, of Luzerne passed away unexpectedly Thursday, August 25, 2022, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born in Exeter, on April 14, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Frank (Shiner) LaNunziata and Josephine Serino LaNunziata.


Ann was a graduate of Exeter High School and Nesbitt Hospital School of Nursing. She was a dedicated pediatric nurse for 42 years. She loved helping children. After retirement, Ann volunteered her time at her church, Holy Family Parish, helping at many church functions.


She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to cook pasta dinners and enjoyed “Ravioli Day” which fell on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Her family gave her much joy and she especially enjoyed family cruise vacations. She will be truly missed.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Angelo LaNunziata and great-grandson, Caleb Blouch.


Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Samuel J. Bartorillo, Jr.; sons, Sam Bartorillo (Tammy) Harrisburg; and Stephen Bartorillo (Linda), Limerick;; grandchildren, Zachary Melhorn (Kim); Alexis Baird (Zachary); Marissa Blouch (Logan); Matthew, Kylie and Alex Bartorillo; great-grandchildren, Therron Melhorn and Joseph Baird; aunt, Evelyn Serino, Exeter; sister, Mary D. LaNunziata Hoover, Exeter; nephews whom she helped raise, Michael (Kristen) and Jeffrey (Ellen) Hoover; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.


Special thank you to the doctors and staff at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, third floor, ICU for the compassionate care they provided to Ann.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at 10:15am in Holy Family Parish, 574 Bennett Street, Luzerne. The family will receive friends and relatives from 9am until time to mass.Interment, Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holy Family Parish.
