Anne Elizabeth Noone

Anne Elizabeth Noone, 72, of Jenkins Township, passed away peacefully at home.


Born in Pittston on February 16, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Roland (Coucci) and Martha Howell Weiscarger.

She was a graduate of Pittston High School, class of 1966 and Wilkes-Barre Business School. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, Pittston.


Up until the time of her death, she was employed at King’s College as Executive Assistant to Fr. Thomas P. Looney, C.S.C., President and Assistant Secretary to the Board of Directors. Her fifty-five years of service at King’s was marked by an amazing level of dedication, loyalty, and love for the College and its mission. In 2017, Anne received the Spirit of Holy Cross Award, an annual recognition by the United States Providence of Priests and Brothers of critical importance lay people play in living out the vision and mission of Holy Cross founder Blessed Basil Moreau, C.S.C., to make God known, loved and served in education, parish, and mission settings.


Anne was a loving wife, mother, Nanny, sister, aunt and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ruth S. McGarry and her husband, Leo McGarry; brothers-in-law, Thomas Noone and James Noone.


Surviving are her husband of 51 years, Frank J. Noone; sons, Joseph Noone (Suzann), Jenkins Township; and James Noone (Angel), Pittston; grandchildren, Abbey, Jacob, Joshua, and Avery Noone; Joshua John ; Jimmy and Lexi Noone; sister, Marion Roughsedge (Tom), Pittston; and brother, Joseph Weiscarger (Ruth), Plains; sisters-in-law, Anne Reilly (Thomas), West Pittston; Ellen Boyle (William), Clarks Summit; and Ann Noone, Pittston; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.


Special thank you to Dr. Ursina Teitelbaum, University of Pennsylvania Hospital Oncology Department; Dr. Paula Ronjon Geisinger Wilkes-Barre Oncology Department; Melissa Kelly, PA Oncology Department; Allied Services Hospice Nurses and her nieces, Kathleen, Theresa, and Charlene for the compassionate care they provided to Anne.


Friends may call Wednesday, November 3, 2021, from 5pm-8pm at Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, November 4, 2021, at 10:00am in St. John the Evangelist Church, 35 William Street, Pittston. Those attending are asked to go directly to the church on Thursday morning. Interment, parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Anne’s memory to King’s College, 133 N. River Street, Wilkes-Barre.

I found Anne to be a woman who exhibited great dedication and the highest moral fiber, qualities that reminded me very much of my father. King's will not be the same without Anne's presence. My thoughts and prayers are with her husband, sons, and extended family.
