Anthony J. Kotlowski

Anthony J. Kotlowski, affectionately known as “Zunner”, 83, of Pittston Township, passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2023, in Commonwealth Hospital Wilkes-Barre.

Born in Wilkes-Barre on January 15, 1940 and raised in the Georgetown section of Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Anthony C. and Helen Yankowski Kotlowski.


He attended Wilkes Barre Township High School and served in the U.S. Army. He was a life-time member of the VFW and was a member of various local social clubs.


Prior to retirement, he dedicated himself to Boilermaker Local 13 as a unionized welder.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Delores Kotlowski in 2014; sons, Anthony and John Kotlowski; and brother, Conrad Kotlowski.


Surviving are daughters, Joanne Recht and her husband Paul, Florida and Michaline Kotlowski and her companion Edward Smichowski, Duryea; 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. He was especially close to his best friend, Norah, great-granddaughter age 8, who enjoyed making his salads and playing cards with him. He also loved being able to drive his great-grandson Christopher, age 15, anywhere he needed to go.


The family will receive friends and relatives Wednesday, April 5, 2023, from 5pm-7pm in Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston. A Blessing Service will be held at 7pm. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
