Antoinette M. Shinal, 97, of Exeter, passed away Friday evening, December 22, 2023, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center.
Born in Pittston on June 13, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Jennie Teberio Rotondaro.
She was a graduate of Pittston High School and Nesbitt Hospital School of Nursing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Shinal in 1997. He was the owner of Shinal’s West Side Beverage and Jenkins Hardware. Also preceding her in death was a brother, James Rotondaro.
She is survived by daughters, Gina Cooper and her husband Larry, Florida and Lora Lombardo and her husband Brian, Exeter; sister, Mary Tabone and her husband Leonard, West Pittston; grandchildren, Keaton Walasek, Victoria O’ Sullivan and her husband Sean; Danielle Lopresto and her husband Carmen; and Melanie Lombardo; great-grandchildren, Blake and Quinn O’ Sullivan and Nina Lopresto and newest great-grandchild, Rocco Brian Lopresto who was born December 21, 2023. Also surviving are sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Eleanor Kluchinski, Wilkes-Barre, Maryann Ewasko, Wilkes-Barre and Richard and Jean Shinal, Wyoming; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family will receive friends and relatives Thursday, December 28, 2023, from 9:00am – 10:30am in Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am in the Parish of St. Barbara, 28 Memorial Street, Exeter. Interment, St. Rocco’s Cemetery, Pittston Township. According to Antoinette’s wished in lieu of flowers, masses or prayers are preferred.
