Arlene D. Toole, 91, passed away on April 10, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, adventure and kindness.

Born in Exeter on May 27, 1934, Arlene was the daughter of Leo and Anna Mercincavage Stankewicz. She was a graduate of Exeter High School. For many years, she was a familiar face in the local garment industry, contributing her talents to the garment factory with a strong work ethic.

Arlene has now been reunited with the love of her life, Robert E. Toole, who passed away in November 2023.

She was a woman of spirit who never turned down an opportunity to travel or enjoy a lobster dinner. Arlene was also a devoted friend to animals, rescuing and sheltering many cats throughout her lifetime. Those who knew her will miss her quick wit a trait that stayed with her and brightened the lives of everyone around her.

Surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Arlene would like to thank her nephew, John Armitage and his family for everything they have done for her these past few years.

The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at Riverstreet Manor with special thanks to Cheryl, Turk, Becky and Bob. Your compassion and kindness toward Arlene never went unnoticed or unappreciated. We will be forever grateful for the care you provided.

The family will receive friends and relatives Wednesday April 15, 2026 from 5-7PM at Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William St. Pittston, followed by a Blessing Service.

Private interment will take place in St. Casimir’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers and to honor Arlene's lifelong love for Animals, memorial donations can be made to: Rescue Warriors Cat Rescue, 539 Luzerne Ave, West Pittston, PA  18640 or to Blue Chip Rescue 974 Lockville Rd., Dallas, PA 18612.
