Attorney Frank Mazzeo

Attorney Frank Mazzeo, 65, of Wyoming, passed away at home Monday, March 6, 2023.


Born in Pittston on February 24, 1958, raised in Old Forge, Frank was the son of the late Frank and Marie Antonio Mazzeo.

He was a graduate of Scranton Preparatory School, class of 1976, a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Scranton, class of 1979, and a graduate of Howard University School of Law where he received his Juris Doctorate.


Frank was a self-employed attorney at law, zoning solicitor of Wyoming Borough, former zoning board member and solicitor for Old Forge, Throop, and West Pittston. He was a hard worker and a dedicated family man especially to his daughters and granddaughters by supporting them in their education and sports. He will be greatly missed by all whose hearts he has touched.


He enjoyed watching sports especially, the Boston Celtics basketball, Boston Bruins hockey, New York Giants football, and Yankees baseball. His favorite past-times included going on airplane rides with Dr. Charles Musto, watching wrestling with his cousin, Billy Salerno, and watching his favorite Marvel superhero Spiderman movies. He loved being around his dogs Coco, Lulu, Kiki, and Lola. He adored celebrating holidays, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas. During the summer, Frank liked to listen to music outside on the porch, to watch nature, especially the rabbits, and to have cook outs with the family. He liked to take trips to the beach and to the Poconos where he would go horseback riding. He loved going to dinners and celebrations with this family.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Helen and John Dwyer and brothers-in-law, John Dwyer and Bob Brannon.


Surviving are the love of his life, wife, Sharon Dwyer Mazzeo, loving daughters, Francesca, Maria, and Sharon Mazzeo; granddaughters, Melania and Giada; sisters, Maria Brannon and Debbie Dunbar (George); nieces, Bianca, Nicole and Christina; Aunt Vickie Vasil and cousins; cousins, Dr. Charles and Lisa Musto; best friends, Attorney Joe Colbassani, Gary Okun (Dr. Jeanne Torony), Roberta Torony, Joe and Joanne Dileo.


The family will receive relatives and friends Thursday, March 9, 2023 from 4pm-8pm in Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, March 10, 2023, at 10am in Parish of St. Barbara, 28 Memorial Street, Exeter, with Rev. Joseph J. Pisaneschi, celebrant. Interment, West Pittston Cemetery.
